Since its implementation, the Automated Red Light Camera Enforcement Program has clearly had a positive impact on traffic safety for the citizens of Plano. As indicated in the table below, crashes at the first four monitored intersections decreased significantly from March 1 through December 31, 2006, versus the same period in 2005:

As additional cameras have become operational, we continue to be encouraged by the results of the program. The following table represents the results of an 18-month pre and post installation study of the intersections equipped with red light cameras throughout the city (includes only those intersections that have been in operation for at least 18 months).
