For all construction projects that will disturb more than one acre of land area the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires operators to obtain TPDES General Permit coverage for the project. This requires the preparation of a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). The City of Plano will require the Owner or the Owner and his contractor(s) to use the Standard SWPPP Sheets below for projects within the City's jurisdiction.
These documents were developed as an aid for those preparing storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs) and to aid the City in the review of SWPPPs for projects in the City of Plano. Their use does not relieve the Operator(s) from complying with the Texas Pollution Discharge Elimination System (TPDES), General Permit for storm water discharges from construction sites or any other applicable law.
STEP 1 – WHAT TYPE OF PROJECT WILL BE CONSTRUCTED?
If you are a design consultant working for the City on a City funded project you need to prepare a CIP SWPPP Narrative Sheet.

STEP 2 – WHAT IS THE DISTURBED LAND AREA FOR THE PROJECT?
Determine the amount of disturbed land area for your project. If the disturbed land area is from 1 to 5 acres you will prepare a small site SWPPP Narrative Sheet. If the disturbed land area is 5 acres or more you will prepare a large site SWPPP Narrative Sheet.
