Texas Recycles Day
This is a drive-through, drop-off event for the collection of items to be reused and recycled by our partner organizations. Click here for simple steps to prepare for this event.
You can help our event run smoothly by sorting your donations into clearly labeled boxes or bags, by the categories listed below. Please note that paper shredding and electronics recycling will be in a separate area, so kindly pack your car accordingly.
The Plano Animal Shelter will collect toys, bedding, treats to help make their pets time in the shelter as pleasant and comfortable as possible.
Glasses/Cell Phones/Hearing Aids
The Lion’s Club will collect these items to distribute those in need in lower income areas.
Bikes for Tykes will collect adult and children’s bicycles for needy families in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and in Mexico, Honduras, and Ghana.
Books/CD’s and DVD’s
Friends of the Public Library will collect these gently used items to be sold for funding for the Plano Public Libraries.
Passing Hats will be collecting soft (non-wool) yarn and knitting supplies to volunteers to knit hats for cancer patients.
St. Andrew’s Prom Closet will collect gently used, current trend evening gowns, purses, jewelry and shoes to ensure that every girl can attend her prom and look her best.
Dallas Medical Exchange will be collecting wheelchairs, walkers, canes, bedside equipment and scooters for patients with needs that aren’t covered by their insurance.
Our Calling will be collecting gently used winter coats to distribute to homeless people on Thanksgiving Day.
Hope’s Door will be collecting housewares and infant, children’s and men’s clothing to help family members they serve that were affected by domestic violence.
Stuffed Animals and Toys
WorldWear will be collecting gently used stuffed animals and toys to deliver to children in need overseas.
Pro Players Foundation will be collecting sporting equipment (excluding football helmets, ice skates and hockey pads) for neighboring child athletes in need.
On-Site Shredding will collect documents for free shredding. Each car has a 2 box limit. No commercial documents please.
United Electronic Recycling will collect anything that has a plug or uses batteries, for recycling. There will be a small fee ($5-$20) for CRT Monitors and televisions. They will accept CASH ONLY.
