Learn to Think Like a Scientist Outside the Classroom
The City of Plano is building a network of trained volunteers from local high schools to gather data regarding the natural conditions of local creeks and streams.
The Plano Water Quality Assessment Program provides students with a learning opportunity encouraging them to think, read and write like a scientist.

Congratulations to the 2015-2016 Water Quality Assessment Group
The City of Plano Water Quality Assessment Group successfully finished its first year of testing. The group consisted of 35 committed high school volunteers. They visited 9 sites throughout our watershed completing over 70 comprehensive water quality tests. Thank you to those that participated, and we are looking forward to another successful year in 2016-2017. If you would like to participate, sign up for our orientation on Saturday, September 24 at Schimelpfenig Library.
