Senior Advisory Board

The Senior Advisory Board was created to generate broad-based public support for senior citizens. The primary goal of the board is to evaluate current issues affecting senior citizens and bring those issues to the attention of the City Council as well as other boards and agencies.

The board welcomes those with concerns regarding senior issues to attend Senior Advisory Board meetings. The Board will hear comments of public interest, but any discussion shall be limited to placing the item on a future agenda, if appropriate. Remarks are limited to five minutes per speaker. The board meets the first Thursday of January, March, May, July, September and November. For more information about the Senior Advisory Board and its meetings, please call 972-941-7250.

Wellness Center for Older Adults

The Wellness Center for Older Adults addresses the needs and concerns for our senior population in Collin County. Located at the Plano Senior Recreation Center, the Wellness Center is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Wellness Center focuses on senior needs in the areas of health, counseling and social services. A variety of health services are offered, including health examinations and screenings. Durable medical equipment is also available. Many of these services are free or a low cost to help cover medical supplies. Free counseling services are also available for seniors and caregivers.
