Driving Safety Course - Juveniles

Driver Safety Course Eligibility
You must meet the following six requirements to be eligible to take a driving safety course to dismiss your citation:
  • You must have a valid Class C Texas Driver's License; or present proof you are a member, or the spouse or dependent child of a member, of the United States military forces serving on active duty.
  • You must have proof of financial responsibility (insurance).
  • You cannot have taken a driving safety course within one year preceding the date of the alleged offense for the dismissal of another citation that is not yet reflected on your driving record.
  • You cannot have been charged with an offense in a construction zone OR with speeding 25 miles or more over the speed limit.
  • You must enter a plea of "guilty" or "no contest."

You must pay the applicable State Costs and Administrative Fee:

            Citation Issued Prior to 1/1/14:           $112.10 or $137.10 if the offense occured in a school zone. 
            Citation Issued On or After 1/1/14:     $114.10 or $139.10 if the offense occurred in a school zone.
