Juror Qualifications
  • A teen justice must treat each case individually, with objectivity and without prejudice
  • Must have an ability to communicate, work in a group, and be able to maintain confidentiality of all cases
  • Juror must be 14-18 years old
  • Participate as a member of a teen justice panel
  • During the teen court trial, listen attentively and objectively to the facts of the case and the arguments, if any, of the attorneys
  • Assign (unanimously with the other teen justice members) the number of community service hours and any other reasonable conditions designed to hold the youth responsible for his/her actions
Responsible To
  • Plano teen court coordinator or designated adult volunteer
  • Municipal court judge
Length of Commitment
  • A minimum of 2 evenings a month for 4 months
