Mosquito-borne Illness

Gear up for mosquito season between early May and mid-November. Mosquito-borne illness has migrated across the country including portions of Texas. The mosquito species carrying these diseases have varying habits. Some bite during the day, while others bite at night. That’s why it is important to fight the bite day and night. The mosquito chart will provide species-specific information including behaviors, transmission cycle, symptoms and anything else you might need to know.

If you travel to warmer regions, you’ll want to take mosquito precautions there as well. Follow the Center for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations as you plan for your trip.
