Our exploration of summer camp fun in Plano continues with a look at our outdoor recreation camps. Featuring a mix of everything, our weeklong Sports Camp and Scramble Ramble are sure to thrill any child age 10 to 16 who likes to stay on the move. We’ve also expanded our hours to 8 a.m.–4 p.m. (formerly 9 a.m.-3 p.m.) to help accommodate parents’ busy schedules.
As the name suggests, Scramble Ramble (for kids ages 12-16) offers a little bit of everything, including bowling, nature hikes and more. Similarly, our Sports Camp (for kids ages 10-15) is designed for campers who want to try their hand at a variety of activities, such as tennis and swimming.
New to our Sports Camp and Scramble Ramble this year is a trip to Plano’s Go Ape Treetop Adventure course as well as a ride on our popular FlowRider Surf Simulator at Jack Carter Pool! Located at Oak Point Park Nature & Retreat Center(5901 Los Rios Blvd.), Go Ape opened last March and features high-flying ziplines, rope ladders, bridges and trapezes for children and adults. The course is supervised by trained professionals who will guide your children safely through the course. In addition to catching an artificial wave at the FlowRider Surf Simulator, Jack Carter Pool (2601 Pleasant Valley Drive) also boasts a lazy river, toddler area, deep water pool and two towering waterslides, as well as rentable party areas, a wet deck, concessions and changing rooms with rentable lockers for guests.
Pool season starts Memorial Day weekend for those who can’t wait until summer camps begin to try the FlowRider. Scramble Ramble runs June 5 through the week of July 24, with Sports Camp running June 5 through the week of August 7. Camp registration closes the Friday before each camp starts.
