Certificates of Appropriateness Activity

The effects of the improved workflow for Certificates of Appropriateness (CAs) continue to keep CA activity rolling. Between April and October, staff approved 15 CAs and the Heritage Commission approved seven CAs.


Staff Approved (15): 

  • 8 related to business signs
  • 1 related to gutter installation at side/rear facade
  • 1 related to non-historic garage door replacement
  • 1 related to restoration of 23 wood windows
  • 4 related to in-kind repair/replacement work, exterior painting
    and roof replacements


Heritage Commission Action (7): 

  • New gutters were approved for the front façade of 1521 G Ave.
  • Demolition of the primary structure was approved for 910 17th St.
  • Removal of the wing walls at the public restroom building were approved for 901 E. 15th St.
  • Partial demolition of the primary structure was approved for 1112 E. 15th St.
  • Installation of window films at the first floor storefront openings were approved for 1032 E. 15th St.
  • Exterior alterations to the detached garage building (secondary structure) were approved for 801 E. 16th St.
  • Replacement of 84 non-historic, aluminum windows with vinyl windows were approved for 903 18th St.
