The City of Plano has been recognized as a leader in fuel efficiency and awarded a bronze rating by the DFW Clean Cities Coalition for its work in embracing alternatives to traditional gasoline.
The gold, silver and bronze winners contributed to a combined reduction of more than 25 million gallons of gasoline in 2016, which represented the largest savings on record.Plano operates a large fleet of vehicles for a wide variety of purposes. Residents see the Plano logo on everything from fire and recycling trucks to small passenger vehicles and police cars. Embracing fuel efficiency in the City fleet helps limit air pollution and carbon emissions from vehicles, and has the added bonus of cost savings to the City.One way that Plano earned points towards the designation was with the addition of an electric vehicle to the fleet.
