If you received a citation for Expired Drivers License, Expired Registration, Expired Inspection (not more than 60 days), or Fail to Change Address, you MUST appear at the Municipal Court on or before the 15th calendar day after the date of offense.  This is your Appearance Date.   You may present proof of correction of the defect, pay a Dismissal Fee of $20.00 and the citation will be dismissed.  The Expired Registration proof of renewal must include a 20% penalty paid to the Department of Motor Vehicles when the registration was renewed.  If the penalty is not paid, the Court cannot dismiss the citation.  The inspection proof of correction must show that the vehicle PASSED the inspection.

If you received a citation for Fail to Display Driver License, Violation of Driver License Restriction A, Only One License Plate, or No Registration (insignia issued before citation) you must appear at the Municipal Court on or before your Appearance Date.  You may present proof of correction of the defect on or before your Appearance Date, pay a Dismissal Fee of $10.00 and the citation will be dismissed.

If the vehicle inspection was expired more than 60 days, your citation cannot be dismissed.   However, if you present proof of correction within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of offense, the Judge will reduce the fine to $10.00 plus costs, for a total of $112.00.  If the offense occurred in a school zone, the Judge will reduce the fine to $10.00 plus costs, for a total of $137.00.
