Sgt. McElligott, Police Crime Prevention Sergeant, demonstrates professionalism and a passion in bringing together the citizens of the community and the law enforcement agency through his leadership in the various citizens programs.

He has been instrumental in instilling feelings of community through his academy programs and the utilization of his volunteers for warrant calls, handicap parking patrols, crime prevention booth and water patrol at the balloon festivals, parade participation, crime watch, National Night Out, and Kids Night Out, Crisis Support Team.

Sgt. McElligott enlists the opinions of his volunteers to improve upon the programs, and incorporates the appropriate recommendations, he diligently provides information, materials, and encouragement to both volunteers and staff. The hours that the Plano Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association donated to these programs and events provided the City with thousands of dollars in tax savings.
