Learn 2 Live Green Events:

Do drought issues have your landscape looking limp? Come take advantage of the fountains of knowledge at the L2LG event this year on April 14 from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m!

  Do-it-yourselfers will be interested in the workshops offered on how to make
a rain barrel.  A 55 gallon completed rain barrel is included in the cost of the
class ($50). Registration is required for rain barrel workshops:

  Classes will be taught on converting to drip irrigation, helping trees survive the drought, how to protect your foundation, and turf grass expert Dr. James McAfee with Texas Agrilife Research and Extension Center will answer residents’ questions about their grass.   Don’t miss out on the opportunity to get involved with these great activities and visit the water conservation booths, where you will be able to learn about finding and fixing leaks around your house, make simple sprinkler repairs, and talk with vendors of irrigation equipment about their latest products. 
       

DIY Drip Irrigation

Are your plants beginning to droop due to drought doldrums? Do you use spray sprinklers for all of your garden related ills? Come and learn about drip irrigation, which is 90% efficient, promotes healthy plants, and is usually inexpensive and easy to install. Irrigation Quick Fixes

Are you watering wisely or irrigating irrationally? When you hear "soak cycle," do you think of your washing machine? Are you trying to figure out how to keep that sprinkler head from spraying your fence? Then this is the class for you! Learn how and when to water your plants, how to make simple sprinkler repairs, and where to go for help.
