All citizens coming to and entering the Plano Municipal Court will be subject to a security screening that may include any or all of the following:
- Walk-thru metal detector and/or a hand-held metal detector
- Brief cases, handbags and packages x-rayed
- Baby carriers and strollers checked by a hand-held metal detector
- Inspection of cell phones and pagers
Weapons of any kind are strictly prohibited. If you bring them into the Municipal Court building, you will be asked to take them out to your vehicle. The security officers will not hold the weapon(s) until your court business is completed.
The following items are prohibited in the court building:
- Guns, ammunition and explosive materials
- Box cutters or utility blades, razor blades
- Knives of any sort including pocket knives
- Illegal drugs
- Illegal substances
- Mace and/or Pepper Spray
- Or any other item that security officers believe would compromise the security and safety of the building

Drinks and food are also prohibited from being brought into the Municipal Court.
Children – For the safety of your child, please do not let your child sit on the customer service counters, pull or swing on the queue line ropes, or play on the stairs.
