NOTE: This information is only valid until July 1, 2012. Effective July 1, 2012, the City of Plano Municipal Court will convert to a court of record. This conversion will affect all trial proceedings before the Municipal Court and all appeals from Judgments. Defendants must request any trial recording.
If you have been found guilty, you have a right to appeal the Judgment of the Plano Municipal Court, by filing an appropriate appeal bond. The appeal bond must be filed within ten (10) calendar days of the Judgment date. Your attorney may file an appeal bond acting as the surety; or you may file an appeal bond with a money order or cashier’s check made payable to the Collin County Court at Law. The amount of the appeal bond is double the amount of the Judgment (state costs plus fine and fees).
NOTE: If you have paid all or any part of the Judgment, your Judgment is no longer eligible for appeal to the County Court at Law.
