Seeking Volunteers for Camp Cimarron 16+
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old and complete an in-person interview with a parent before being assigned to this program.
Age requirement: 16+ only
Description: Camp Cimarron is an outdoor summer camp program located at Bob Woodruff Park-South, offering a wide range of outdoor recreation activities for children ages 6-12. Volunteers will help children participate in a variety of group activities for children to learn about the natural environment through fun nature hikes and environmental education activities including fishing, crafts, games, swimming and other activities. We are seeking volunteers who have excellent communication skills, enjoy young children, can commit to a schedule and be a positive role model for others.
Volunteer will be working with children: 6-12 years old
Transportation: Shuttle service will not be available to volunteers. Volunteer must drive own car to Bob Woodruff South or have a parent drop-off and pick-up at the southern pavilion.
Set Shift: 8am-3pm.
If volunteer cannot be picked up by 3pm, this program is not a good match.
SCHEDULE:
Monday – Friday from 8am-3pm
· Every weekday June 4th – 29th
· Every weekday July 9th – 31st [NO CAMP JULY 2-6]
· Every weekday August 1st – 10th
Last day of camp is Friday, August 10

Parks and Recreation volunteers are active in our Senior Recreation Center assisting in the kitchen, computer labs, dance and music activities, library, knitting and crocheting, greeters and other activities. Therapeutic Recreation volunteers help special needs individuals enjoy their leisure time. The Interurban Railway Museum utilizes docents, historians, storytellers and others to help with special projects. Plano Stages and Convention and Visitors Bureau use individuals and groups for events around town. Others sign up to be Park Stewards and help clean up creeks and parks.
