Plano CERT Volunteers Aid Lancaster in Recovery
On April 7, nine members of the Plano Community Emergency Resource Team (CERT) traveled to Lancaster to assist with tornado recovery. Plano combined efforts with McKinney CERT members. The CERT volunteers were divided into two teams. One team went door-to-door gathering signatures for permission to remove debris from private property. The other team came behind this team to move the debris that could be safely carried by hand to the right of way for future collection. The team was accompanied by Senior Emergency Management Specialist Mariah Armitage and Volunteer Resources Group Supervisor Robin Popik. LEARN MORE.
