 31st Annual Christmas Craft Fair

The City of Plano Parks and Recreation Department will host its 31st annual Christmas Crafts Fair November 21 & 22. Booths will offer handmade holiday decorations and gifts including a large selection of Santas, angels, tree skirts, ornaments, and wreaths. Jewelry and clothing will also be available. The fair will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at Plano Centre, 2000 East Spring Creek Parkway. Admission is free.

 Dickens in Historic Downtown Plano


The annual Dickens in Historic Downtown Plano event will be held on Friday, December 4 in Haggard Park, 901 E. 15th Street. Activities start at 6 p.m. and will conclude at 10 p.m. This year’s festivities include music and carolers, pony rides & mini train rides for the kids. Dickens in Historic Downtown Plano also has three stages of entertainment to add holiday music to the evening. To accommodate shoppers, the downtown merchants will be staying open late. The annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Santa will be in his house to talk with kids from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

 Park Vandalism



Recently, several Plano parks have had instances of vandalism resulting in damage to park facilities and turf. Needless to say, this has a negative impact on park users.
Citizens are encouraged to call the Plano Police at 9-1-1 if they witness vehicles driving on park grass or suspicious activity of any kind. 

If you notice damage that has already occurred in a park, please call park maintenance at 972 941-7263 or e-mail customer care at parksinfo@plano.gov.

  Upcoming Holiday Hours
Plano Recreation Centers & Aquatic Facilities will observe the following holiday hours:
Thurs., Nov. 26 - Thanksgiving - all facilities closed. (Pecan Hollow Golf Course open for double tee times 8 a.m. - 10 a.m.)
Fri., Nov. 27 - Plano Senior Recreation Center, Interurban Railway Museum and administrative offices are closed. All other facilities open.
Thurs., Dec. 24 - Winter Holiday - Interurban Railway Museum and administrative offices closed. Tennis Center closes at 3 p.m. All other facilities close at 5 p.m.
Fri., Dec. 25- Christmas Day - all facilities closed.
Thurs., Dec. 31 - New Year's Eve - Interurban Railway Museum closed. All other facilities close at 5 p.m.
Fri., Jan. 1 - New Year's Day - Pecan Hollow Golf Course open. All other facilities closed.
