Cell phones without service can dial 9-1-1

The Outdoor Warning System audible test is run on the first Wednesday of each month at 12:00 Noon

Make sure to lock your cell phone! If you accidentally dial 9-1-1 just stay on the line

Be aware of your location: get to know your streets and addresses

If safe to do so write down license plates of suspects in crimes

That's how our dispatch team answered the 161,190 (nearly 450 per day) 9-1-1 calls that came in to our agency in 2009, and that's how we will answer if you ever need us.

Public Safety Communications (PSC) is the answering point of all 9-1-1 and non-emergency Police/Fire/EMS calls made within the 71.6sq miles that make up The City of Plano. Our well trained dispatchers are here 24/7 as the first point of help in an emergency situation for the city's 268,000 residents.
