  1. Clear the Shelters 2017

    August 19, 2017, 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM @ Plano Animal Shelter

    We are joining more than 60 shelters across North Texas with the support of NBC 5 and Telemundo 39 in the Clear the Shelters event again. Pet adoption fees are waived during this one day event. All pets will be sterilized, vaccinated and microchipped. We have nearly 300 dogs and cats, along with several rabbits and guinea pigs that want to be part of your family. Feel free to drop by a few days early to meet the pets in a less busy atmosphere to narrow down your favorites. We look forward to sharing this day with your family.

    Registration for fall classes begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday, August 5 for Plano residents and at 5 a.m. on Monday, August 7 for everyone else. Classes begin the week of September 4. Swim, hike, dance, do tai chi and yoga, brush up on computer skills, paint, sew, kayak or learn to paint...these opportunities and more can be found in the Fall 2017 Leisure Catalog.

    Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella is the new Broadway adaptation of the classic musical. This contemporary take on the classic tale features Rodgers & Hammerstein's most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Impossible/It's Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago,” alongside a hilarious and romantic libretto by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Beane as well as some new characters, and surprising twists. Originally presented on television in 1957 starring Julie Andrews, Rodgers & Hammerstein's CINDERELLA was twice re-made, first in 1965 for Lesley Ann Warren and then again in 1997 featuring Brandy and Whitney Houston. The original Broadway production opened in 2013 and starred Laura Osnes, Santino Fontana, Victoria Clark and Harriet Harris.

  3. Live & Local Concert Series: 5 Second Rule

    August 19, 2017, 8:30 PM - 10:00 PM @ McCall Plaza

    The Live & Local Series at McCall Plaza occurs on the third weekend of each month on Friday and Saturday at 8:30pm. These are free concerts for the public. 5 Second Rule has been delighting audiences with acoustic creativity at pubs and festivals around the Southwest since 2008. Their specialties include traditional Celtic music, bluegrass, world music, classic rock and more! Angela's at the Crosswalk will provide bar service on-site.
