    August 7, 2017, 8:00 AM - August 9, 2017, 12:00 PM @ Plano Event Center

Bring your friends and join Dan Quinn for OontzKids Plano DJ Camp, where we'll learn about what a DJ does, how and why they do it, and get hands on experience with real DJ equipment, ending with a showcase performance by each student at the end of the camp. Topics covered will include different genres of music and how DJs came about, basic music concepts such as beats, bars and tempos, beat matching, cueing/hot cueing, crossfading, filtering, effects, and concepts such as slip mode and scratching. All equipment will be provided including Pioneer DJ Controllers and laptop computers loaded with music and Pioneer Rekordbox software. Students will work in pairs on each station. On the final day of camp, each student will have the opportunity to showcase what they've learned and put on a short 10-15 minute dance set for their parents and classmates.
