Interlibrary Loan Service - Plano Residents Only
Interlibrary loan (ILL) is a service provided to borrow books, audios, videos, and photocopies of articles from magazines and newspapers which are not owned by Plano Public Library System. The service is provided through a partnership with the Texas State Library using the Texas Group Catalog. The Interlibrary Loan service is for Plano residents only.
Cost / Restrictions
A $2.50 postage/courier fee is charged for each ILL item requested and received. This fee will be added to your account when the item leaves the ILL office in transit to the library you requested as pickup location. The postage fee applies whether or not the item is picked up by the patron. If a request is made but no lending library is able to provide the item, the postage fee will not apply. Ten items per household at any one time can be in the various stages of ILL – requested, on hold, checked out or returned but not yet cleared from your WorldCat Navigator account.
Patrons with fees of $5.00 or more will have their accounts blocked and will not be allowed to check out ILL materials or have access to any library resources including computer use.
A library card is required and requests must be submitted electronically. Information is verified and a database or more than 6,000 institutions nationwide is searched for the item.
