Heritage Preservation Grant Program

The City of Plano offers a heritage preservation grant to local nonprofit organizations that support heritage preservation and heritage tourism in Plano. This grant program, and the amount of funds awarded, is available as funds permit. Grant funds may be used for projects consisting of historical programming, historic preservation advocacy and some historic restoration projects. Funds to support this grant are generated from Plano’s hotel/motel tax revenue. Projects and programs funded by the grant program must demonstrate how they will promote tourism in Plano and support Plano’s hospitality industry.

2020-2021 Grant Program

Since 2004, over $11.2 million has been allocated to organizations promoting heritage programming and tourism in the City of Plano. For the 2019-2020 year, a total of $832,726 was awarded to the following recipients:

Applications for the 2020-2021 grant year will be available in ZoomGrants beginning April 3, 2020. The deadline to apply is May 4, 2020.
