The City of Plano provides flood map information and maintains Elevation Certificates for structures in the city. Maps are kept on file in the Engineering Department located at the Plano Municipal Center, 1520 Avenue K and Haggard Library located at 2501 Coit Road.
The city also provides flood protection assistance and makes site visits to properties and residences.
The City of Plano does not sell flood insurance. The City of Plano is a member of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
The NFIP, a federal program, offers flood insurance, which can be purchased through property and casualty insurance agents. Rates are set and do not differ from company to company or agent to agent. These rates depend on many factors, which include the date and type of construction of your home, along with your building’s level of risk.
