Mosquito Spraying on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 9 p.m.

Three pools of mosquitoes in City traps have tested positive for the West Nile virus. The City will take proactive measures by spraying targeted locations in and around the area of the traps. Weather permitting, Plano Environmental Quality Division crews will spray three locations (sites 8, 9, 15) Wednesday evening, September 23, beginning at 9 p.m. The targeted spray areas are bordered by the following streets:

Site 8

  • North - Ports O’ Call Dr.
  • East - Pebble Vale Dr.
  • South - Geneva Ln.
  • West – Country Place Dr.

Site 9

  • North – Janwood Dr.
  • East – Alma Dr.
  • South – W Plano Pkwy. / George Bush TPKE
  • West- Westwood Dr.

Site 15

  • North – Portobello Dr.
  • East – Vistas Trl.
  • South – McKamy Trl.
  • West – Shadow Rock Dr. / Petticoat Dr.

Residents are urged to ensure children and pets are indoors during the time of spraying.

The Environmental Quality Division team is surveying the areas around the traps to determine what type of physical controls may be implemented in order to reduce mosquito habitats.

Spray Notification

The City will post notifications of spray events and maps of their locations as they are scheduled. No spray events are scheduled at this time.
